OAKLAND, Calif. — On Aug. 9, sportswriting and broadcasting students witnessed a thrilling game between the Oakland Athletics and the Los Angeles Angels. Before the game, these sports enthusiasts received press passes and the opportunity to stand behind home plate and interview Jerry Blevins, a relief pitcher for the Oakland A’s.

Once the game started, the students indulged in snow cones and garlic fries and cheered for their favorite players from the seventh row. The students enjoyed a beautiful day under the sun and realized that throughout their 11-day stay with NSLC, they have bonded and become a team of their own.
